Twisted Lies is the fourth book in the Twisted series. It's got a fake-dating trope with a twist that had me hooked from the beginning. Ana Huang's writing has improved so much since the first book in the series, and it really shows in this one.

The story follows Stella, a social media influencer who's struggling to stay relevant because she doesn't have a partner to show off. But then she meets Christian, the security expert and owner of her apartment building, who just happens to have cover model-worthy looks. They start fake dating to help Stella land a fashion sponsorship deal and let me tell you, the slow burn between them had me on edge the whole time.
But things take a dark turn when Stella becomes the target of a stalker. It adds a whole new layer of intrigue to the story and watching Stella navigate the situation was both thrilling and terrifying.
I really loved Stella's character in this book. She's independent, ambitious, and fully realized as an adult. It was refreshing to see a character who's not just defined by her romantic relationships. And speaking of romantic relationships, Christian was... okay. I didn't hate him like I did some of the other guys in the series, but he didn't blow me away either. I didn’t hate him too much. That’s a win. Even though the twist is messed up at the end of the book, I was able to ignore it most of the time. But the Twisted Love & Twisted Hate was too messed up to ignore.
For the most part, I really enjoyed Twisted Lies. The spice level was good, but not quite as great as in Twisted Games (which is still my favourite book in the series). Overall, I'd say Twisted Lies comes in at a close second in terms of enjoyment and spiciness. If you're a fan of slow burns and fake-dating tropes, this is definitely a book you'll want to check out!
